Queen Larimar and Princess Ametrine

     My friend and her baby were awesome enough to allow me to use their images for this piece. Queen Larimar is the merqueen of the farming kingdom in the novel I'm writing with my husband. She's not a major character, but her fins are described as having a pattern  similar to those of a lionfish. Because she looks so unique, I really wanted to paint her. My friend's favorite color is blue and she likes to dress her baby in purples and yellows. Ametrine is a stone with purple and yellow in it and all of the merfolk in the book are named for stones and jewels, thus Princess Ametrine was born.

     This original piece is on the smaller side, but comes already framed with a custom mat.
